If you’re addicted, seek help.
If anything, Scripture praises Couples Nursing, but it can be a double-edged sword, both to the single and desirous, and the married and practicing. Anything of proven therapeutic value can easily lead to psychological dependence.
Everything is permissible, but not everything is beneficial. Christian couples have the freedom in Christ to practice Couples Nursing to God’s glory, but it’s critical to avoid being mastered by it.
I think the keys to enjoying CN for the beautiful gift it is while avoiding being distracted from our more beautiful Savior are accountability and, counter-intuitively, embracing it as one of God’s many gifts. Speaking from recent experience, when a yet-to-be-experienced gift is embraced with thanksgiving, it’s less likely to be controlling.
The accountability mentioned above includes maintaining your online integrity. I highly recommend Accountable2you ($4.99/month) and K9 Web Protection (free). Be especially careful when looking up info online, as there is a real scarcity of Christian material on ANR. I don’t recommend visiting any ANR dating sites besides ANRSpace – for just a few minutes at a time, and with your guard way up, since ANRSpace isn’t Christian.
I currently use both online integrity systems mentioned and find them very helpful. I plan to seek even more accountability in the near future.
Find trusted Christian friends and check yourself into spiritual Rehab if anything distracts you from Christ.
