Sometimes, I get blindsided by my desire and start thinking unhealthy thoughts.

In Skydiving without a parachute, I said “If a Christian faces a dilemma that primarily affects only him/her as an individual, I strongly believe it’s better to err on the side of caution. If the dilemma has the power to affect the Christian’s marriage like an ANR can, it might be better to err on the side of caution and marital satisfaction. The mistake I and many Christians make is we think it’s one or the other.”

The mistake I’m now making is erring too much on the side of marital satisfaction, when marriage isn’t even guaranteed. That can also be read as erring too much on the side of me satisfaction. I occasionally use the freedom God grants me to pursue this desire in marriage and abuse it, with Satan cheering me on.

The devil uses even God’s word to tempt us, as he did with Christ. Flee temptation. Resist the devil.
