Our physical needs take a backseat to our spiritual needs

John 4:34:  “My food,” said Jesus, “is to do the will of him who sent me and to finish his work.

Matthew 4: After fasting forty days and forty nights, he was hungry. The tempter came to him and said, “If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread.”

Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’[b]

Before Jesus fed multitudes, he made sure he first fed them spiritual truths. Likewise, in their letters, the apostles usually delivered an exposition of the gospel before delving into practical matters.

Let’s keep our eyes on the prize and avoid getting distracted by physical desires, no matter how biblical or beneficial.
