He fills the hungry with good things: the Magnificat

And Mary said,

“My soul magnifies the Lord,
⁴⁷     and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior,
…
⁵³ he has filled the hungry with good things,
    and the rich he has sent away empty.

— Luke 1

Mary meant this ‘filling the hungry’ in a spiritual sense, as did her Son when he said “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.” But God is the Author of life and refreshment, and while his priority will always be our spiritual wellbeing, he undoubtedly cares also for our physical needs.
